Is HGH better in the morning, before bed, or around a workout?

A natural nighttime pulse does not establish an optimal bodybuilding schedule.

Evidence at a glanceTiming studies do not establish a superior hypertrophy schedule in healthy adults

Natural GH secretion is linked to sleep, but that does not prove that a bedtime injection produces more muscle than a morning injection. A dosing schedule changes exposure; demonstrating a better outcome requires a trial that compares schedules while holding other relevant factors constant.[1]

A randomized crossover study comparing morning and evening GH administration in children receiving treatment examined sleep and daytime alertness. It did not establish a superior schedule for adult bodybuilding. Differences in age, diagnosis, formulation, and treatment goal prevent a simple transfer of its findings to healthy adults seeking enhancement.[1]

Recreational-athlete GH research also shows why the endpoint matters: a change in body composition or a hormone level is not interchangeable with increased strength. There is no well-established morning, bedtime, or pre-workout rule that guarantees superior hypertrophy. For prescribed treatment, the product instructions, adherence, and clinical monitoring are more defensible guides than a universal timing hack.[2]
